The number of days you need to explore Vietnam really depends on your travel goals, budget, and interests. However, to get a good sense of the country and its highlights, I would recommend spending at least 10-14 days in Vietnam.

  • Day 1-3: Hanoi – explore the Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, Temple of Literature, and sample street food
  • Day 4-5: Ha Long Bay – take a cruise to explore the stunning limestone islands and caves
  • Day 6-7: Hue – visit the imperial city, Thien Mu Pagoda, and take a boat trip on the Perfume River
  • Day 8-9: Hoi An – wander through the charming ancient town, visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, and explore local markets
